Somebody’s Trip to France

A while back I found a set of old photos in amongst some developing kit I’d been given. I know nothing about where they came from apart from the fact that, by the looks of it, they’re of someone’s holiday in France.

Along with some old postcards, they fell victim to a few collage experiments.

Experiments in Deep Blue

A few weeks ago I went along to a Cyanotype Printing workshop at the awesome Spike Island (check them out for lots of free workshops). It’s a fairly simple technique the was originally used for making prints from drawings and is where the term ‘blueprint’ originally came from. The paper is treated with a photosensitive solution and the objects laid on top create white silhouettes on a deep blue background when it is exposed to sunlight. These were my experimental creations using tracing paper, ink and some found objects.

Berlin in Black and White

I got a film camera last Christmas and my recent trip to Berlin has been its first proper outing (barring a few which were unsuccessful due to the film not being in properly).

My Spaceship

I recently went to a collage workshop hosted by Paper Girl Bristol. It’s not something I’d done much of before, so it was nice to try something new. It was interesting how the inspiration and ideas just came from whatever images I happened to find, it was much less pressure than having to plan what I was going to make.
